About Us

Hull Churches Housing Association
Hull Churches Housing Association currently owns nearly 500 homes for social rent and shared ownership in Hull and the adjoining areas of the East Riding of Yorkshire. Our stock is diverse and includes family homes, homes for older people and specialist, supported housing.
Our approach
Our approach to housing management is based on the needs of the individual tenants and the areas and communities in which they live. We place high value on openness, accountability and learning from success and failures to ensure delivery of flexible, quality services.

It is HCHA’s vision that everybody has a good quality, safe place to live, and the support they need to do so. And, we have made it our mission to make a difference to people’s lives and the communities in which we work, by:
Providing the best quality homes we can
Increasing their number to meet needs where opportunities emerge, and resources allow.
Improving schemes
Improving the physical, environmental, and social sustainability of our schemes.
Excellent services
Providing excellent services, including person centred care and support, that contribute to changing individual lives for the better.
Social wellbeing
Adding to economic and social wellbeing in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire.
What’s in the name?
Hull Churches Housing Association was founded by members of Crux, a group of professional people who wanted to give practical expression to their Christianity.
The first housing scheme we built in Hull was on the site of St Barnabas Church on Hessle Road. Many of our earlier housing schemes are named after patron Saints.
We have never changed our name since these early days, and locally are very much known as Hull Churches or HCHA. Even though we have no affiliation with any church in Hull, we are still loyal to the ethos and value of those members that founded the Association in 1984.
We welcome tenants, employees, shareholders, board members and partner organisations from all sections of the community and people of all faiths, and no faith.
