Our Board & Financial Statements

HCHA’s Board is ultimately responsible for everything HCHA does. The Board has 7 volunteer members who have an interest in the Association’s aims and work and bring the skills and experience to guide the management team. 

Board Members are elected at the Annual General Meeting by shareholders. 

The Board meets once a month to make sure that we do what we promise and that we do it right.  

The Board’s Role:

Health & Safety

Make sure appropriate systems are in place to ensure the health and safety of tenants, staff, and contractors working in partnership with the Association.

Strategic Direction

Seek comments, feedback and, where relevant, representation from tenants before taking decisions on the strategic direction of the Association.

Manage Risks

Make sure appropriate systems are in place to manage risks effectively, so that we can protect the Association’s resources and reputation.

Evaluate

Evaluate whether the Association is operating effectively, efficiently and economically. 

Accountability

Be accountable in an open, honest and transparent way.

Jill
Hellings

Chair

Jill was the Head of Corporate Services and Company Secretary at Leeds Federated Housing Association for 20 years. Her remit covered people management, organisational development, leadership, and governance.   
Jill was also Chair and Board Member at the Housing Diversity Network.

Stuart
Whyte

Stuart has been executive and non-executive director in several roles in Housing Associations, most recently Chair of Leeds Federated HA and Harrogate HA, with knowledge of Hull and the East Riding as a former Chair of Gateway, Hull.

Faye
Williams

Faye’s current position as Head of Treasury and Financial Planning at a registered provider was preceded by an accountancy career spanning over more than 25 years, with 20 of those years in a senior position in the housing sector.

Andrew Thompson

Andrew is a Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants. With a finance career background in practice accountancy, manufacturing and healthcare, before joining the housing sector in 2015.

Steven
Brook

Steve is currently Chief Executive of Harrogate Housing Association. A Chartered Accountant with over 30 years working in the not for profit sector, including 20 in housing. Financial and treasury management, company secretarial and corporate governance experience.

Kellie Lemonidis

With an extensive career in legal practices spanning 25 years, Kellie currently works in the development team of a housing association, where she liaises with solicitors’ councils planning departments and developers to take potential s106, land led and off the shelf property schemes in Hull, East Riding and North Yorkshire through planning and legal acquisitions.

Simon
Warwick

Simon is an experienced Project Manager, CRM professional and management accountant, with a successful track record of delivering business system projects within the private and public sectors both in the UK and globally.
