Our regulator

The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) ensures that the social housing sector is well governed and able to deliver quality homes and services for current and future tenants.
They do this by setting standards, including about the quality of homes, the neighbourhoods those homes are in, and how well social landlords, including local authorities, engage with their tenants.
The standards are set to drive improvement and ensuring that social housing providers are well managed, financially viable and offer value for money.
The RSH can also take appropriate action if the outcomes of the standards are not being delivered.
The Chair
The Chair of the RSH Board is accountable to the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, and the Chief Executive has a separate direct line of accountability to Parliament. This means the RSH plays a major part in the development of social housing policies too.
